## How the score works

The FutMetrix score rates match entertainment on a 0-100 scale using five
factors: intensity, balance, stakes, stars, and upset. Together, they capture
the action, how evenly matched the teams are, what is at stake, the players
involved, and the surprise of the result. Pre-match ratings help fans choose
what to watch; post-match ratings assess how the match actually played out.
Stars inform the pre-match rating, while upset reflects the result afterward.

The algorithm is continually refined based on how well its ratings perform.
