Satoshi Tanaka

Satoshi Tanaka is FC Schalke 04's Bronze-tier Squad Player. Arriving from Fortuna Düsseldorf to build out his body of work, our verdict is that the Japanese defender is successfully carving out his role in Gelsenkirchen. At 24 years of age, he brings much-needed tactical discipline and steady reliability to the roster's depth.

Across four appearances, logging 327 minutes on the pitch, Tanaka is undeniably hitting top form. He operates as a crucial defensive anchor whenever called upon. A standout Defense rating highlights his positional discipline, but it is his proactive reading of the game that tells the real story. Earning the INTERCEPTOR badge, he consistently breaks up opposition attacks before they can materialize into dangerous chances in the final third. Though the sample size of his playing time is still emerging and he is primarily utilized for rotation, his ability to seamlessly step into the lineup and deliver calm, decisive interventions proves his immense worth. Our take is that every successful campaign relies on players who can plug gaps without a single drop in defensive solidity.

Valued at €2M with a stable market trajectory, Tanaka represents smart, cost-effective squad building. If he maintains this steady growth and continues to lock down attackers when rotated into the side, his overall influence—and price tag—will inevitably climb.
