Keita Kosugi

Keita Kosugi is Frankfurt's Bronze-tier Prospect. Arriving in Germany from Djurgården, the twenty-year-old Japanese defender is building his body of work in a highly demanding environment. Without major career trophies to his name yet, he remains entirely focused on cementing his place in European football.

With just three appearances yielding 270 minutes of pitch time, the sample size remains limited, but Kosugi is showing glimpses of what made him a sought-after talent. Operating on the left flank, his standout dimension is an impressive Workrate, characterized by a relentless motor off the ball. However, adapting to a higher level has brought distinct challenges. He is maintaining a consistent level of form, but a severe lack of touches has earned him a GHOST badge—an invisible presence that leaves fans asking where he was during the match. Despite this quiet start in possession, his sheer physical effort points to a player determined to break through.

The transition phase is clearly reflected in the market. With his valuation falling to €5M, the stakes are rising. The young defender must translate his off-the-ball intensity into on-ball influence to reverse this trend and prove his long-term worth.
